Let’s do our wrapping party next Tuesday, from 10:00 to 11:30 at the office. Ask Erin, the office lady, to invite the building tenants as well.
Alex, Robin, Gloria, and Phil: you’re added so you can provide input as well and/or do your own party if you so desire. I’d love to have you all join us; however, I realize the distance is prohibitive for you and your peeps. (But remember, a big reason why we do these events is to have the excuse to call people for a non-business purpose. Even if they don’t come, you get credit and a reason to touch them).
Let’s talk about how we want to invite folks. I may suggest only social instead of emails and SMS since we’ve been beating up our database lately. Let’s discuss tomorrow.
My original thought: let’s invite everyone (clients, builders, Loan Officers, etc). Promote on social. Feel free to tie it in with the 12-day give away if you want. Your call and I don’t even know what that means. Just throwing it out there.
No need for RSVP. The team is “highly encouraged” to participate – even if they don’t have presents. They can help wrap presents.
We’ll have music playing and there’s hot coco in the machine. (We’ll do it in the common area).
Have SB get and bring:
- 3 bottles of LaMarca processo
- A bottle of Orange Juice and Cranberry Juice
- (I think we already have Zing Zang bloody mary mix)
- 6 pairs of scissors
- 12 rolls of tape
- 6 different wrapping paper prints (nice paper),
- ribbon / strands, and other things (like hollies, scrabble letters), corks, hot glue gun, etc. etc.
- Anything else that makes sense for wrapping. (no bags. That’s not “wrapping.”)
She can buy this stuff on amazon if she wants. Emily bought this.
IF we need more than what’s listed above, we’ll just run to the Walmart during the party – it’s one block away.
Our team can wear our ugly sweaters.
If you want, we can do a prize for the best wrapped gift, ugliest sweater, and coolest gift. Your call. Don’t over complicate this. I can make a video too if needed.
Make the invite casual: (this isn’t an “event” – this is us doing something and you should join us).
- Come join us.
- Safety tip: Don’t wrap for 30 minutes after eating and don’t wrap alone. (like swimming)
- Friends don’t let friends wrap alone.
- Can’t wrap, neither can we. But we’ll get through it together.
- Etc.
- Etc.

Timing: I like the week before Christmas. Gives everyone time to buy (and it’s a deadline that people can strive for).
Next year we can promote it sooner to get more mileage.
